You know, as much as I love the idea of people being able to play near any song on Guitar Hero via modding, I really hate how it all comes out. The thing that made Guitar Hero great is that it gives you a good feeling of accomplishment with the seperate guitar track. What do I mean? I mean that if you miss a note, you hear a ‘miss’ sound and the guitar track is silenced, while the rest of the song still plays in the background. It’s like a pie: If you miss, you take off the pie crust, but the rest of the pie.
Now, the problem with modded Guitar Hero songs is that they’re all on one track, snce the song has just been imported; when you miss, most of the time you just get the ‘miss’ noise that plays over the music. This is like trying to eat a pie, and even if you miss, you still get a full bite; although with this, the pie is just made of crust. Other times, the lack of a seperate guitar track is compensated by silencing or lowering the volume of the song , which is like having a pie made of crust, and when you try to eat it, chunks of it mysteriously dissapear. Wtf?
